Joanne is a resident of Carling Township and has been painting since 1999. She began with acrylic paints and took lessons from another Carling artist, Carol Cascanette then experimented further with watercolour under local artists Joe Gardisch and Jack Reck, all the while developing her own style.

                Joanne currently enjoys working in both media. She has taken workshops by portrait artist Jean Pederson, abstract acrylic artist Donna Baspaly, watercolourists Bonnie Steinberg and Art Cunanan, as well as master artist Arlie Hoffmann through Canadore College’s summer Artsperience program. Her paintings are varied in subject matter, depending on what strikes her fancy, but always with love for the play of light and attention to detail.

                Joanne can be found working in her home studio, or, in the summer, in her garden.
